On December 29, the Beijing Municipal Health and Wellness Commission released the “Expert Guidelines on Health Management for People Recovering from Novel Coronavirus Infection (First Edition)”.
According to the report, the guidelines “bring together the opinions of experts and scholars in different fields and summarize relevant clinical experience, aiming to help and guide the self health management of people recovering from novel coronavirus infection.”
According to the “Novel Coronavirus Pneumonia Treatment Protocol (Trial Version 9)” and expert recommendations, the guidelines state that a person with new coronavirus infection has entered the recovery phase when any of the following criteria are met and other symptoms have improved significantly.
- two consecutive negative nucleic acid tests, both with Ct values ≥ 35.
- negative antigen test results in three consecutive days.
- If the fever subsides for more than 24 hours without using fever-reducing medication when the home isolation is completed for 7 days.
The guidelines provide advice on major health issues and rehabilitation during the recovery period, psychological adjustment and nutritional support, daily life precautions, and home disinfection advice, respectively.
Health guidance provided for key populations such as the elderly, pregnant women, and children.
